Virgin Racing shows off New Car (more images)
- Published on Feb 3rd, 2010 by Adam MilleneuveHere it is - the brand new Virgin Racing F1 car. It looks very pointy and has a fairly smart black and red livery, boasting some of the best driver race suits so far...
The team are boasting about their low budgets, with the car being designed entirely on computer without real scale models or pen and paper. Let's just hope it goes like it was designed on PhotoShop rather than Microsoft Paint. The official Virgin VR01 Press Release can be seen here: Virgin Launches VR01

Will be interesting to see how slo..I mean fast this runs; CFD and FEA often give a good idea, but sometimes (frequently, from experience) totally inaccurate in a real-world situation..Still - good luck and we shall see...
I've got a feeling that to boost readers we should havex exploited this post with the title "Sexy Virgin Pics", to be honest, I doubt anyone would have been dissapointed. It's truly a work of art, the colour scheme is gorgeous and second only to Sauber's revelation.
Even if we can't get this HDTV broadcast malarkey off the ground, the season is certainly going to be presented in glorious technicolour as a result of new cars like this.
A testiment to the hard work of John Booth and his team, well done lads.
Good comment and it's great for F1 to have Virgin involved - bring on some great publicity stunts and a boost for F1's image. You can enter a comp to name the cars here, very nice touch! http://www.virginracing.com/cars/name-the-car/ I've suggested "The Badger" - imagine that!
The studio shots are even better, I can't help but feel with that ultra-thin nose that the VR1 looks like an Indy Car...
Well, if looks won races, this car would be on the podium every time.... just have to wait now and see how it performs
