"You're Nicked!" Lewis Hamilton pulled over by Aussie Bobby
- Published on Mar 26th, 2010 by Adam MilleneuveAfter a rather successful second practice session in Melbourne, Lewis Hamilton has been in trouble with the Australian police for doing 'burnouts' in his Mercedes car which is said to have been impounded by the force.
Lewis has apologised for "driving in an over-exuberant manner" - it's far from positive PR for the usually squeaky clean image that Hamilton has - so this is actually a breath of fresh air - nice work Lewis!

Hamilton: Fast on the track, fast off the track

This is what we want - racing drivers being RACING DRIVERS!!!...cool...
Most people would have paid to see that on their street corner. The bobbies should have coned off the street and made an event of it...!!!
I bet he can spin that C63 on a sixpence with ZERO risk with his skills.
It'll do his reputation the world of good..good on you son!!..
I reckon Mark should go down to the same spot and do the same thing. I bet he won't get booked!
What a legend. I love the way the police statement describes the incident
"The vehicle was seen to deliberately lose traction and was intercepted by police. "
Its too much fun to "deliberately loose traction"
"The driver, a 25-year-old man who resides in Switzerland, was spoken to at the scene and is expected to be charged on summons with improper use of a vehicle. "
Once again its too much fun to make "improper use of a vehicle".
the copper walked up to the drivers door window and said...."Who do you think you are, Lewis Hamilton????"..........to which the driver rolled down his window and said.,,,,,,," YES!!!!"
REAL LIFE!!!!! ya cant beat it can ya???!! #:-)
"Who do you think you are? Mark Webber?"
"No but he's on his way next if you want to nick him too!"
Fantastic guys! Keep up the good work!!!
Isn't Australia the country where Mad Max happened. You'd think the police had other things to worry about.
You do get the feeling the police were hanging around the exit, just waiting to nab someone. No biggy though, I think pretty much all of the best racing drivers have had minor (sometimes major) indiscressions in the public roads. Seem to recall a certain N Mansell getting caught and let off for doing well over a ton.
Par for the course.
