Monaco Grand Prix Live in London

- Published on Apr 24th, 2010 by Adam Milleneuve

F1 Badger Proudly Presents:

Here at Badger we love Formula One and we also love meeting people, socialising and having fun, so in conjunction with our friends at the Sports Cafe, we're putting on the first 'Badger:LIVE' event where you, your family, friends and neighbours can come along and enjoy the most prestigious grand prix on the calendar with us and other F1 fans.

The Sports Cafe is in Central London, just around the corner from Trafalgar Square and has 2 floors, 4 bars and more tv screens than you can shake a stick at, all of which will be showing the live coverage from Monte Carlo on Sunday May 16th.

All Badger readers receive some pretty amazing drinks and food offers - just download and print the voucher (available soon) then present it when you come along.  The event kicks off from 10.30am with the qualifying being re-run at 11am before the big race build up.

As well as the grand prix, there will also be a prize giveaway with merchandise courtesy of Henri Lloyd up for grabs and a special edition of our FantasyGP game where someone will win themselves an F1 Badger Trophy Mug.

There are more details to be announced soon - see the Monaco GP Live in London page for more details, if you're on facebook - let us know you're coming by RSVP-ing here

Any questions or comments, make them below, we hope to see you there!

The more i mull this over in my mind, the more i consider it to be a great idea. I was a bit hung up previously with potentially missing aspects of the grand prix, but it is actually Monaco, nothing much happens anyway unless it's wet!
Besides, i can set the skybox to record it in my absence so that i don't miss anything for my stat-collecting!
Plus even if the venue isn't the cleanest in the world, alcohol comes in bottles too!

Kings Cross and Paddington are both located in Zone 1, as is Piccadilly Circus. So would i be right in stating that people coming from outside London will only need a Zone 1 travelcard? And are Sunday's off-peak? (i can't get any sense out of the trains website!)

Hi Dave, thanks for your question - yes it should be a good fun event, and hopefully be a good opportunity for grand prix fans to meet other grand prix fans.

The Sports Cafe have a wide selection of drinks and food on offer, all of which will be discounted for Badger readers (voucher available soon) and for your information, they have over 40 HD screens with feeds from across the world so as well as the BBCs excellent footage you'll also get coverage from RTL and others as well as the stats and what not.

More details to be announced the week before the event. As for transport yes either of those train stations are fine, as are London Victoria and Euston. For the tube, you can get a day travel card for zones 1 & 2 (just zone 1 isn't an option) which costs around a fiver. Or you could catch a bus or a cab won't be much.

You'll also be able to catch up on anything you miss on the BBC iPlayer too, everyone's a winner!
