Hamilton Wins while the Bullfight ends in Tears
- Published on May 30th, 2010 by Adam MilleneuveFormula One isn't boring - that's the Badger's slogan and today we were served up a right feast of Turkish delight with a stellar grand prix giving us close racing and a proper fight for victory - classic F1.

Hamilton didn't look too chuffed on the podium, most likely because he was gifted the win when Vettel and Webber came together when Sebastian took an opportunity to pass Mark, and he would have made it past, if only he hadn't over-estimated where he was in relation to his team mate - he came across to cover the racing line, but in the process came together with Webber and spun out while (rather miraculously) Webber continued and soldiered home to take the final step on the podium.
Red Bull won't be happy with their drivers coming together - team boss Christian Horner said that "everyone's a loser" in this situation... true, except Mark Webber now leads the championship with Vettel lying 5th, so he's done pretty well out of it.
In comparison, Button and Hamilton had a great fight for the lead with the two of them hustling each other, after which, Lewis had the lead covered to take McLaren home for their first 1-2 of the season.
Overall the Turkish Grand Prix was a breath of fresh air with plenty of argy-bargy and jostling for position - just what we needed.
There is of course loads more to talk about, check back later for full reaction and thoughts, for now, let us know your thoughts on the race and if you're playing Fantasy GP, you can now logon to see how you got on in the Jackpot grand prix of Turkey.

Ever heard the story of the OLD RED BULL and the YOUNG RED BULL. ?
The OLD RED BULL had the best approach to doing things. Maybe VETTEL needs to cool his enthusiam to rushing in too fast.
Hmmm - pretty sure this was our 2ND 1-2.....
Anyway - 100% Vettel's fault. He wasn't totally past and decided to pressure Mark to the right (as will every other aggressive move tried at that corner by the rest of the field)... Mark held his line as he is allowed and POW.... Seb - humble pie time or your stock in my book will diminish.... And what was with the "crazy" hand signs as you walked away from your trashed car....... Wake up and smell the roses. You can lead a race from start to finish, I have yet to see you RACE from start to finish....
I feel Vettel was mostly in the wrong there. Unfortunately it looked like Webber pushed Vettel a little to the left, while Vettel clearly was having none of it and tried to push back. Into his team-mate.
The McLarens being gifted a 1-2 through no ability of their own does not make me feel good, but in this case it was clearly a driver(s) error, not reliability, that gave them the points.
Hamilton's early push to keep up with Webber really impressed me, and bad luck that the pit-stop strategy didn't work as intended, even more so for letting Vettel sneak into P2.
Whilst watching the two red bulls collide felt good and bad at the same time, I do feel that watching the two McLarens show them how it should have been done felt fantastic! Good on Lewis and Jenson!!! Maybe that should make this weeks Badgerometer!
As for the subdued celebrations, it did feel a bit handed on a plate towards the end, and thats probably why Lewis wasn't really feeling it today.
