Lunchtime Viewing - The Spanish GP TV Times
- Published on May 3rd, 2010 by Adam MilleneuveThere's a quiet sense of relief across F1 fans based in Europe because the Spanish Grand Prix marks the beginning of a run of races that start around the massively convenient time of Sunday afternoon rather than the early mornings of Australia, Malaysia and China. Of course, those of you based outside Europe won't be as chuffed, but anyway, here's Badger's handy guide to what's on and when for UK based fans.
The main events:
- Qualifying - Saturday: 1pm - 2pm on BBC1, Red Button, Online and Radio 5Live (coverage to begin around midday)
- Grand Prix - Sunday: 1pm onwards on BBC1 Red Button, Online and Radio 5Live (coverage to begin around midday)
For the more hardcore fans:
- Practice 1 - Friday: 9am - 10.30am (Red Button, online and radio)
- Practice 2 - Friday: 1pm - 2.30pm (Red Button, online and radio)
- Practice 3 - Saturday: 10am - 11am (Red Button, online and radio)
Also, in case this isn't enough for you, it's worth bearing in mind that the Spanish GP is also the first round of the GP2 series - where many of our current F1 drivers have graduated from. In a nutshell, it's like F1 but a bit slower, with drivers that are likely to be unfamiliar, but with plenty of overtaking and incidents - all rather exciting. Read Badger's preview articles here and if you fancy watching it on telly it's on British Eurosport and Setanta Sports 1.

Comments and Discussion
I have to disagree with your comment re the timing of the European GPs.Not convenient, its
a bloody nuisance, spoiling the traditional Snnday lunchtime tradition of the Englishman's coupleof beers in his local [=pub, bar].
Silverstone,Brands Hatch too I think, the GP always started at 2.30 pm our time. THAT didn't interrupt our sacred pints! Mike
Haha, good comment Mike, although I tend to disagree - nothing better than a Sunday afternoon pint along with some banter about the race, after the race!
Are you in the UK then? You should come to Badger's Monaco GP in London event - where you can watch the racing and have a beer if you so wish - clever eh!?
