Calm Before The Storm? Friday Practice Timesheets

Friday practice in Canada remained dry, with even a spot of sunshine breaking through the heavy threatening dark clouds over the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.  The McLaren pair dominated the first practice with the Mercedes GP duo looking strong too - Rosberg seems happier with the car and Schumacher is getting more on the pace of things too, ending the session only a fraction shy of Jenson Button's time.  Kubica also continued to look good for Renault.  Red Bull had a fairly quiet first practice, but not as a quiet as Lucas Di Grassi with his Virgin giving up during a warm up lap.  On the flip side, Force India will be chuffed, clearly establishing themselves as the next best after the big four and Renault.

Practice two was much more interesting with pretty much every driver complaining of graining on their tyres, both front and back - the softer tyres in particular seemed to last barely a few laps before causing trouble.  As a result, there's talk of more than one pit stop being on the cards come Sunday - i.e. back to the good ol' days where we used to see drivers dashing in for a fresh set of tyres towards the end of the race to get an advantage - could be very interesting.

Sebasitan Vettel looked very upset again after second practice, despite going to the top of the timesheets, just ahead of Fernando Alonso.  Speaking of timesheets, here's practice one and two:
