Your Guide to the Hungaroring GP Circuit

- Published on Jul 31st, 2010 by Adam Milleneuve

The Hungaroring, a track that has delivered many a fine grands prix since it was reintroduced to Formula One in 1984.  The winners list is an impressive list of names, mainly world champions and Lewis Hamilton has won two out of his three appearances at the track, in fact his McLaren team have won no less than 9 Hungarian GPs - an impressive record.  Don't expect history to repeat itself though because if Red Bull can translate their practice and qualifying pace into race pace on Sunday either Mark Webber or Sebastian Vettel are bound to be in front by the chequered flag.

That's not to say that a procession is likely on Sunday, the track does encourage overtaking, especially the bravest of drivers - just look back at some of the epic races in 1986 and 1990 (courtesy of the BBC) here.

To ensure you know your way around the circuit, here's Badger's guide to a lap of the Hungaroring.  No pointless gear numbers or corner speed stats, just plain English guide to the corners and when to get the power down.  Can you guess who kindly provided the voiceover for our Hungarian guide?

Enjoy

"Who's feeling hungry for victory" - indeed, who do you think will do the business on Sunday?!
