25 Days To Go: Belgian Grand Prix

- Published on Aug 2nd, 2010 by Adam Milleneuve

Akin to the countdown to the festive time of year, Badger's kicking off it's rundown to the return of Formula One following the summer break.  Today, we're 24 days away from the Belgian GP practice sessions so here's a sneak preview of the track, as driven my the Hungarian GP winner, Mark Webber:

The video is produced by Red Bull and is part of their monthly magazine - "The Red Bulletin" - which, in it's original form was an early inspiration for Badger back in 2007 with it's light-hearted and brilliant coverage of the sport.  It originated as a magazine handed out at races on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Sunday evening where Red Bull had some serious logistics in place to produce, print and distribute the magazine in print at every race on the calendar.

Sadly, this ceased at the end of 2008, but it's not all doom and gloom because the magazine was instead beefed up to cover more than just F1 (Red Bull afterall are involved in pretty much every exciting sport) and is distributed across the world inside newspapers.  For us here in the UK, it comes out on the first Sunday of the month, free inside the Telegraph.

A printed magazine may seem a bit 'last decade' to many folk, but Red Bull recognise this and in turn have produced a website that works with the magazine in 'augmented reality' using your web cam and a copy of the magazine you can interact with it like never before, their e-magazine also, rather incredibly comes to life in front of you with printed pages becoming three dimensional with superb video content.

It's impressive stuff and well worth a read - treat yourself now and by the time you're done, you'll be another day closer to the Belgian grand prix weekend.

If you didn't pick up a copy of the Sunday Telegraph, the full magazine is available online: The Red Bulletin August 2010
