Have no fear, here's Korea - Badger's Track Guide

So apparently Bernie was close to canceling the inaugural Korean Grand Prix with the organisers being so close to not actually finishing the circuit - fair enough, but thankfully after managing to put some grandstands together, build a pit lane and lay the final layer of tarmac, it's all go for this weekend - phew!

There have been concerns over the surface being slippy and oily with the track being so fresh, every picture of progress tends to feature a fork-lift truck and it does tend to look quite retro, like many of the videos of F1 from the 80s on YouTube - retro as in it's un-developed and all a bit basic apart from the track itself.  Ignoring this though, there's no real reason why this weekend's race shouldn't be a modern classic, there's still five drivers in contention of title glory, everyone is in the same position of having to learn the track and hey, if it is a slippy as people say then it could be rather entertaining, especially if Kobayashi continues with his do-or-die moves...

If you've got your mits on the new, rather impressive F1 2010 game you'll have been able to drive the circuit already and enjoy it's long straights while struggling around the fiddly bits, but hey here's Badger's Track Guide for Yeongam - Vitaly Petrov* popped by to do the voiceover this time, he sounds quite excited - and why not - Korea could potentially make or break his career...

So what do you all make of Korea ahead this weekend's action? - Have you tried it on F1 2010 yet?

Here's some more photos of the track, straight from Virgin Racing - have a look (facebook)

We'll take that as a compliment Simon :) Seriously though, 'Korea' is a headline-writers dream come true, expect much more over the weekend!

I like the new circuit, but I'm sure there is going to be an incident at the pit exit! Having a pit exit that feeds straight onto the racing line is a recipe for disaster!
