Bernie Ecclestone mugged outside London home
- Published on Nov 26th, 2010 by Jack LamureF1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone was mugged on Wednesday night as he returned to his London home, leaving the 80-year-old in hospital with a bump on the head. He is, however, absolutely fine.
The pint-sized profiteer was not alone - he had his girlfriend, Fabiana Flosi, with him. The two were set upon by four men who forced them to hand over £200,000 worth of jewelry. Ouch.
“We were called to reports of a man and woman who had been robbed in south west London at approximately 10.30pm on Wednesday night," a police spokesman told The Daily Mail. "The man, aged 80, was taken to a west London hospital for treatment to a minor head injury. The woman was not injured.
“At this early stage it is believed a quantity of jewellery was stolen but we cannot disclose details of what was stolen as yet. No arrests have been made at this time and inquiries are continuing.”
Nasty. But hey, at least he's found new happiness following his divorce from Slavica, the 6ft (and then some) mother of his children. So who is Bernie's latest love? An ageing German countess? A star of Hollywood's Golden Age now in her twilight years? Err, no - she's a 31-year-old Brazilian beauty who would look more at home on the arm of a lithe young F1 driver than its pension-collecting commercial rights holder. In fact she's comfortably young enough to be Ecclestone's granddaughter.
Yes Miss Flosi is a whopping 49 years Bernie's junior. Now - to quote self-proclaimed 'Voice of a Generation' Kanye West - we ain't sayin' she's a golddigger...
We do, of course, wish Bernie and Fabiana well following their ordeal.

Ecclestone beaten for £200,000. Moseley: "You're paying too much Bernie!" (from twitter this morning)
I'm guessing Ecclestone has some 'contacts' out there. I'd be looking over my shoulder if I was one of the muggers.
Seriously.
I wonder if Bernie does collect his pension? And his winter heating allowance? Does he eat sardines on toast sitting next to a two bar electric fire with a tartan blanket over his knees? Probably not.
However, I am sure that Ms Flosi would still love him even if he did.
Bet it won't stop him criticising the "dangerous" Interlagos track though.
That Ecclestone idiot should use his billions to invest in time travel. Then he could read the safety blog I just wrote for him, and maybe this tragedy would never have occurred.
