There isn't a London Grand Prix but...

...there are plenty of places to go for the F1 fan who's got time to spend in London, so here's Badger's little guide to some of our favourites - if you know of more, or anything nearby then do share in the comments below...

The Ferrari Store - Red stuff

Love or loathe the red team, they have a massive following, so massive in fact that they have their own line of shops across the world, including one on Regent Street (not far from Badger's GP Bash!) which covers two floors, has a full size Ferrari F1 car as well as more team merchandise than you can shake a red stick at.  Being Ferrari, they also have an impressive range of smart goods with the prancing horse emblem on them, including gloves, aftershave, bags, mugs, cufflinks and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Science Museum - A broken McLaren

Chances are, being an F1 fan that you've seen many different F1 cars in museums, at a race or some kind of promo event, but have you ever seen an F1 car that's crashed and been rebuilt close up?  If not, you can head to the Science Museum in South Kensington where they have a late 90's McLaren of Mika Hakkinen which crashed and has been put together - definitely different and great to see.

Henri Lloyd - Mercedes GP Merchandise

Down on the fashionable Carnaby Street is one of Henri Lloyd's clothing stores, where they currently (at the time of writing) have a sale on.  Being as they sponsor Mercedes GP and produce the team's clothing, you can pick up some of their rather smart merchandise there.  If you're reading this and really want some Mercedes GP merchandise but can't get to London, you may be interested to know that currently, if you spend £30 at their online store, you'll get a free team cap (worth £20) - not bad at all - HL Online Store

The Sports Cafe - A lovely early 90s Williams

This venue shows pretty much all live sport, including the F1 and is of course the venue of choice for Badger's Brazilian GP Bash - what's more, they have a replica of Williams there too, suspended from the ceiling - a great photo opportunity!

More Shopping - Westfield and Covent Garden

Over in Shepherd's Bush at the massive Westfield shopping centre there's a well-stocked F1 merchandise store, ideal if you're after the latest teamwear and if it's model cars you're after then it's worth heading to Covent Garden for St Martin's Model Shop - where you'll find amongst others, some beautiful large scale models of various F1 cars including Jenson Button's 2009 Championship winning Brawn GP car.

Cars International - buy an F1 car!

This is over in South Kensington too, and as well as fast supercars they often also have some ex-F1 cars - a while ago, Jean Alesi's Ferrari was there and one of Schumacher's Benettons.

Also recommended - Motor Books on Cecil Court, not far from Leicester Square tube station. Some really good, difficult to get hold of books in there, plus back issues of F1 Racing/Autosport and the like.

I shall be doing none of these things. I shall be buying foreign sweets from Chinatown and Cybercandy. Nom nom nom.

Do you by chance have any information if the store in Westfield mall is still open and its name? Thanks
