Brazilian GP: Interlagos Track Guide

- Published on Nov 4th, 2010 by Adam Milleneuve

In 2009, when it came around the Brazilian GP we had Jenson Button on the verge of becoming World Champion with Brawn GP, with only the Red Bulls threatening to spoil the fun.  Thanks to a rain-effected qualifying the grid was all over the place, with all of the big names back beyond the 5th row.

This ensured a fantastic race, something we're familiar with at this awesome race circuit, Jenson had a championship-worthy drive including a battle with the young and sprightly Mr Kobayashi in his tally over takes.

Besides the champion headline, the race was full of overtaking, incident and controversy too - Trulli drove into Sutil (or the other way around) and took out Alonso, while Raikkonen ran into Trulli - all within the first few corners.  Then we had Raikkonen's flash fire in the pit lane after fuel-hose issues for Kovalainen and also towards the end of the race Barrichello had a puncture after a brush with Hamilton - Vettel consequently jumped ahead of him in the standings.

Here in 2010, we're about to head to Brazil and the scene is set for another epic grand prix with five drivers still having a mathematical chance of being champion.  Ferrari could be said to have the upper hand, but this is Interlagos and anything could happen, sure Fernando could give the Tifosi a new champion this weekend, but then we could also see the championship close up even more...

So, without further ado, it's time to present this amazing circuit - in video form with Badger's Track Guide, complete with a voiceover by Karun Chandhok* - Enjoy!

Any thoughts on Brazil 2010 folks - what are your thoughts on this weekend's race?

Oi Adam - Is that you with the slightly 'dodge city' - Brazilian / Indian accent?

Love the accent again, though this time it's less spaghetti western and more 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'. Punkawallah!
