Badger popped down to Autosport on Friday to have a look around and see what the world of international motorsport is up to these days.  If you haven't been to or heard of Autosport International before, it's essentially a massive racing car show, with nearly all forms of motorsport respresented in some form or another.

Any company that's any company is likely to have a presence at the show, from engine tuning to tshirts to F1-grade sensors and people selling racing cars.  There's also a good amount of celebrity too with Martin Brundle, Mark Blundell, Martin Whitmarsh and Christian Horner milling all about yesterday.

Sadly, the days have gone where every F1 team had a presnece at the show, in 2011 F1 Racing magazine had their usual display of recent cars (and some cleverly disguised old cars!), there was the Lotus Renault launch (that's the black and gold one folks) and then McLaren topped the lot by having a huge stand showing off their successes in Formula One.  Right from Bruce's 1969 car through to Lewis' 2008 winner and a fair few inbetween made for a great display.

Badger also met up with a few friends and made some new ones at the show and over the next month or so we'll be bringing you some interesting pieces on the incredible world of F1-standard engineering, with exclusive interviews and access - all very exciting.

So if you're reading this and don't have a lot to do on Sunday, we suggets you get yourselves over the NEC in Birmingham for good fun day out.  And if you need a little bit convincing yet more, there's also something called the "Live Action Arena" where there's a pretty bonkers and brilliant car racing show.  We won't spoil it for you by giving you a blow by blow account, but the F1 Reliants, really did tickle us - have a read of the team names painted on the cars...
