Gallery: Retro Racers on Show
by Jack Lamure on Feb 27th, 2011Octane Photos have been roaming the land again this weekend, gathering shots from the Race Retro show that was held at Stoneleigh near Coventry. There were a host of old school F1 cars in attendance from the likes of Ferrari, Lotus, Jaguar and Simtek, among them a pair of Jody Scheckter machines (specifically a Ferrari 312T4 and a Wolf WR1) and Steve Griffiths' Lotus 101, back from a rebuild after being pitched into the wall at last year's Goodwood Festival by a suspected rear-wishbone failure.
The show also featured a varied collection of Jaguars assembled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company's E-type model and historic racing cars from disciplines as wide ranging as rally and Gp.C sports cars.
A host of classic racing car shots - what more you could you ask on a Sunday evening?

brilliant pics there... can't wait for my new camera so i can revisit Donnington motor museum and get better pictures! Forgotten how nice that Jaguar green was... liveries aren't as nice as they were! (with some exceptions...)
It's so strange to see that a Simtek, Jaguar down as "retro". No-one fell over themselves to see them when they raced!
Loved the Scheckter collection, there's some real nostalgia in those two
