Say hello to the 2010 Fantasy Grand Prix World Champion. After an epic 19 race season, Paul Jackson fended off over 3000 rivals to be crowned the 2010 World Champion with his team “Bovine TB Racing” - and his prize was to race a single-seater around Silverstone.

Who is Paul Jackson?

Before he got on with the training and driver briefing, he sat down with us for a pre-race interview:

Where did you travel from today and how did you get here?
Norfolk, just up the road from Jake Humphrey and I got here driving my fairly punchy Honda Accord.

Nervous, done anything like this before?
Nervous – yes, I’ve never done anything like this before. The fastest car I’ve driven previously was a Ford Fiesta RS.

Did you pass your driving test first time?
Not quite, saved that for the third attempt, but I think that makes me a better driver.

What do you do when you’re not racing at Silverstone?
Work with seeds for an agricultural company.

How long have you been an F1 fan?
For the last 30 years. My favourite season would be 2009, the BrawnGP story was epic. Michael Schumacher is my favourite driver, but I’m supporting McLaren these days, backing the British pairing of Button and Hamilton.

Paul's very happy to be at Silverstone!

Who would put money on for the 2011 F1 Championship (the real one)
Alonso, got a feeling he’s going to get Ferrari their first post-Raikkonen drivers championship.

Paul's support crew - friends Adam and Owen

If you found yourself in charge of a real F1 team, what would be your ideal driver pairing?
Senna and Schumacher (Michael, not Ralf)

As for Fantasy Grand Prix, what tips do you have for other players?
Have at least one or two drivers in your dream team that qualify poorly, but finish higher up – the ‘improvement points’ helped me to get here a lot. I have other tips too, but rather keep those to myself and do the double!

And finally, if you could have an F1 themed dinner party, who would you invite?
Martin Brundle, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Jake Humphrey and Felipe Massa – Oh and I’d have BadgerGP waiting the tables!

Paul Jackson – Start your engine!

So there we have it, that’s Paul Jackson the 2010 Fantasy GP Champion. After a 30 minute briefing he was out in the car, the red number 9 motor for a session behind a pace car before being let loose to race!

Here's a video montage - the preparation, on track - taking the car to an impressive 140+ mph down the back straight and reaching the chequered flag in one piece! He recorded the 8th best time of the day too, not bad at all.

This could be you!

If you haven’t signed up already, you can sign up for the 2011 FantasyGP game now and by the end of the 2011 season, you could find yourself in the seat of a racing car at Silverstone – the home of British motorsport.

Well done to Paul, he put up a great fight all season long, I hope I can mount a stronger challenge this year to stop him winning the double

best of luck Gary! You never know, if we get enough donations/funds from advertisers and the like, there may be a more prizes to hand out. Have to say that Silverstone experiences are fantastic though, a great day!

If you want I could ask Claire @ Williams if they'd be willing to donate a prize if you'd like?
