The new force to be reckoned with? Introducing the VJM-04
by Adam Milleneuve on Feb 8th, 2011We've nearly seen all of the 2011 F1 cars now, Force India are the last before Williams' final livery and well, without any glossy affair or fanciness, they've launched the car online today for us all to see. Paul Di Resta will be hoping this motor helps him make a big impression in his rookie F1 year and Adrian Sutil will be hoping he can move forwards up the grid with this new motor.
After losing several key technical boffins to Team Lotus (the green one) this is what they've come up with:

What do we think folks?

Love it! Game on Paul!
Indeed!
Sorry, don't like it. What is it with all the teams trying to find the new nose shape? Mercedes and now Force India have different ideas and both look ugly. This one looks like a shoe!
"looks like a shoe" classic!
big fan of the team, but this one made me laugh.
i was talking about the Craig Normansell words lol
Unfortunately, this car looks like it needs to go on a diet! fat nose and a fat bloated rear end. It really doesn't fill me with any confidence this thing is going to be challenging up front. Oh and for normansell, that Merc nose is a work of art, how they got that to pass the crash test is a true wonder of composite engineering. Very very slick. The front wing on the FI is however quite interesting!
I'm with the general gist of the other comments. It doesn't look special enough to be a front-runner. It is an evolution of the 2010 car (hence the heavy nose) but that rarely shone, though half the time was stunted by drivers who couldn't help bashing it into things.
Force India are chugging blissfully down the bland lane at the moment and unless Paul Di Resta is some kind of super-maniac they'll continue to be somewhere around the midfield, only making it onto the TV when Sutil bins it.
When i'm asked to name all the current F1 teams, it's normally Force India which is the one i forget because they never do anything to remain in memory.
Their graphic designer needs a kick up the rear too. A 5 year old with a packet of crayons could do a better job at making the car look striking.
