F2 Champion Making Good Progress

by Adam Milleneuve on Feb 17th, 2011

Reigning Formula Two Champion Dean Stoneman continues to make good progress following his second five day cycle of intensive treatment for Cancer.

The 20-year old has been receiving almost non-stop Chemotherapy since being diagnosed with Testicular Cancer towards the end of January , with brief periods of rest at his Southampton home.

“So far the specialists seem very pleased with Dean’s Progress” said Stoneman’s Manager Steve Noakes. He added “ the team at Southampton General Hospital have been totally outstanding for which Deans family are very grateful. Dean is in good spirits and showing the same character and determination we have become used to seeing him display on the track.”

Dean and his family have also been given a major boost by the level of messages of support from both within and outside of motorsport. “ It’s been incredible to get so many cards texts and emails from people wishing me well” said Stoneman. “I would like to thank everybody who has shown me so much kindness. I would also like to thank Igor Salaquarda and Peter Berry at ISR Racing for being very supportive. Also the BRDC have been amazing. Being included again in this year Superstars programme has given me even more reason to return to full health and back racing.”

Stoneman ‘s treatment continues. He also plans to travel with ISR to selected Renault World Series 3.5 races during the season. The team also have an option on him for 2012.
