The car to beat? Red Bull launch the RB7

by Jack Lamure on Feb 1st, 2011

Red Bull Racing have launched the car that they hope will keep them on top of the Formula One tree in 2011 - ladies and gentlemen, may we introduce to you the RB7.

This car carries a huge weight of expectation. The RB6 was one of the most dominant racers of recent F1 history, taking a total of 15 pole positions and nine race wins on its way to both the drivers' and constructors crowns. How do you follow that?

Sticking with the tried and tested combination of Adrian Newey-designed cars, Renault engines and the driver pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, the team will now seek to build on the foundations laid by 2010's title success. Vettel in particular suffered a number of early-season mechanical glitches last year, something Red Bull will be keen for the RB7 to avoid.

So as many of their rivals copy the direction they went in 2010 Red Bull have revealed what they - and many F1 folk - believe will be the pace-setter this season.
