Toro Rosso launch their bid for a better year

Toro Rosso have become the fifth team to unveil their 2011 car, with the Red Bull junior team taking the wraps of their STR6 in Valencia. As ever the car runs in the energy drink maker's colours and looks irritatingly similar to the main team's machine.

The team will stick with the racing line-up of Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari in 2011, with Aussie Daniel Ricciardo joining as third driver. He'll take part in FP1 throughout the season, alternately replacing Seb and Jaime, and could even end up in a race seat should either of the incumbents underperform.

The STR6 is the second car to be designed entirely by Toro Rosso following the ban on customer chassis. The Italian team had previously been using cars penned by Red Bull design deity Adrian Newey, but are now fully independent of the Milton Keynes-based team. Well, in all areas except finance.

So will this new motor allow the team to return to the glory days of 2008 or are the Toro Rosso boys set for another season scrapping to make it to Q2?
