Gallery: The Donington Exhibition

by Adam Milleneuve on Apr 3rd, 2011

Here's some Sunday evening viewing for you - thanks to Octane Photos, who popped over to the quite simply awesome Grand Prix exhibition at Donington Park race circuit.

As a track, it's been through a lot, especially the battles over hosting the British GP only a couple of years ago, but now - at the track which saw one of the (of the many) great drives by Ayrton Senna in the wet for the 1993 European GP, you can enjoy a feast of grand prix history with what has to be one of the best collections of grand prix cars we've seen.

For any F1 fan, you'll have the same feeling as a child in a sweetshop, with so much to look at, explore and get close to.  The collection of Williams F1 cars, which is only out done by Williams' own museum of their cars is astounding - after the messy British GP politics and the departure of Mr Gillett, the Williams cars returned to the exhibition, to join the impressive amount of McLaren machinery.

If you haven't been to the Donington Grand Prix exhibition, you should get yourself there during the next non-F1 weekend - full details and prices can be found on their website here.

If you've already been, let us know what you thought of it in the comments below and enjoy our gallery of photos below!

I have to admit this is a must visit for any F1 fan, I've been a few times and every time it strikes me just how passionate Tom Wheatcroft was about Motorsport. It's a real shame Simon Gillette's plan to return F1 to Donnington didn't come off.

I'm surprised you didn't notice the paintings on the walls though, they're something else http://gallery.me.com/andrewdobb#100038/DSC00773
