Williams & Jag team up to build new supercar

by Jack Lamure on May 6th, 2011

Given their troubled start to the F1 season you might wonder where they'll find the time, but Williams have today been announced as having partnered with Jaguar to create a new hybrid supercar.

Capable of 0-100mph in 6 seconds, and with a top speed in excess of 200mph, the Jaguar C-X75 will become the marque's most advanced model to date.

The British-built machine also boasts a lightweight, all carbon-fibre chassis and  electric motors that will achieve supercar performance with less than 99g/km CO2 emissions - which we're told is pretty good. But if you fancy one it won't come cheap - how does a pricetag of £700,000 sound?

"Williams has always considered itself an engineering company and so this project will allow us to combine our technical expertise to create something truly exceptional," said team boss Sir Frank Williams.

"The C-X75 received an incredible reception as a concept car," added Jag brand director Adrian Hallmark. "We've been building on that momentum and there is a clear business case for this exclusive halo model. No other vehicle will better signify Jaguar's renewed confidence and excellence in technological innovation than this."
