Jenson and Lewis Prepare for a Wet Grand Prix

by The Badger on Jul 7th, 2011

All the forecasts are looking towards it being a wet British Grand Prix this Sunday, so much so that during a PR effort for McLaren partner, Vodafone both Jenson and Lewis sported the classic union jack umbrella in front of Tower Bridge, London along with an army of London taxi cabs.

Comments from Jenson and Lewis:

“Having the support of the British public is just what the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1™ team need ahead of our home Grand Prix™. The support we receive over the weekend really encourages us all and let’s hope we can give the fans a great day out and get the right results on Sunday.” - Jenson

“Knowing the nation is behind us at Silverstone is fantastic and should give our team the edge over our rivals. Events like today remind you that our home Grand Prix™ is a true British occasion which makes it that extra bit more special!” - Lewis

And here's the press release in full:

Vodafone, London taxi drivers and the British public get behind Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1™ drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button in front of Tower Bridge, London ahead of the 2011 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.

As you’ll see the rain was torrential but neither driver minded – Jenson commented that he was actually quite pleased with the conditions as he’s hoping for rain this weekend.
