Jenson goes Joyriding in Manchester
by The Badger on Aug 30th, 2011After a jensational Belgian GP - overtaking enough cars to claim 3rd and finish a difficult weekend on the podium, Jenson Button didn't waste anytime getting back into a McLaren as he spent Bank Holiday Monday lighting up his tyres on the streets of Manchester.
It was yet another superb Vodafone event, with thousands of people turning out to see the '09 Champ thrash a McLaren car about.
He also participated in a lengthy Q&A in the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Fanzone, which housed a go-kart track, F1 simulator and exhibition of McLaren memorabilia.

I went, I saw, I loved it! More teams should do things like this. You get so much closer to the action than you ever do at a track. Yay for JB doughnuts!
Bit gutted that the fanzone was for Vodafone customers only, but I guess it's understandable if they're sponsoring the event. I had a go at sneaking in but the security looked quite scary...
Brilliant to hear the screaming engine reverberating around the buildings! Massive turnout as well - apparently vodafone were a but surprised so many turned up
