Crash Bang Wallop: Petrov VS Schumacher

Michael Schumacher and Vitaly Petrov came together again during the Korean Grand Prix, in quite spectacular style - while battling with Fernando Alonso, Petrov had far too much speed approaching the corner and simply smashed in Schumacher, while Alonso ran wide and narrowly avoided being caught up in the carnage.   It must have been a massive shock for the German who was having a reasonable race, only to then have it be over in a flash.

Petrov carried on, pitted for a new wing but suffered from damage to his steering, forcing him to retire.  The incident was investigated after the race and Petrov has been given a five place grid penalty for causing the collision.

Great. At least one crash per race should be in the regulations.

Petrov out braked himself racing the obviously fast Ferrari of Alonso,
Clearly he was flying into the down hill braking area with a good tow over that rise into the hairpin.. and unloaded the os front left..leaving nothin but the inevitable of hitting Schumys MercedesIt was highlighted later on with Rosberg against Algesuari about car balance And turning force.down into that corner after the straight.
Excellent Pictures.

The way I see it is that Alonso killed two birds with one stone: he
got rid of both Schumacher and Petrov after they got ahead of him
after his stop. Whether he did this in a premeditated way remains open
to debate, but Alonso being the wily fox that he is one never knows
...

No he wouldn't have done it on purpose, but they both got carried away in their spirited battle. It's just a shame for Michael that they were close behind him as neither would've made the corner - Alonso didn't go straight on in avoidance, he wasn't going to stop in time either.

Racing incident. Vitaly will learn from this and will not make the same mistake again. Pity for Michael though.
