Gallery: Barcelona Testing Day 4

by Adam Milleneuve on Feb 24th, 2012

Day 4 in Barcelona saw Kamui Kobayashi complete a massive 145 laps around Circuit de Catalunya for Sauber and finished the day on top of the timesheets, with yesterday's quickest, Pastor Maldonado only a quater of a second down on him.

Both Caterham and Marussia suffered from technical difficulties today, Charles Pic's epic run of laps this week was halted due to suspension issues on the 2011 Marussia car, whereas Kovalainen had electrical issues with is car, causing the team to prematurely end their running in the morning.  The Caterham team were back up and running the afternoon to complete a total of 70 laps.  Charles Pic and his team mate Timo Glock will be out in the 2012 Marussia car next week at the 3rd test in Barcelona.

Today's session ended with a run of red flags, firstly for Kobayashi running out of fuel and then Button's McLaren for stopping out on track.  In a strange way, it's good for the teams when things go wrong - i.e. better it happens in F1 testing than in the first grand prix.

The rear of the Ferrari looks a lot better than last year now that the pillar is gone.
