The penultimate day of testing over in Barcelona was one of the sunniest so far, with clear blue skies and warmer temperatures giving the teams and drivers better conditions to get to grips (pun fully intended) with the Pirelli rubber and sort out their car ahead of Melbourne.
Being the last test, the engineers are keen to get their innovations on the cars to check how well they work on track. So much so that Red Bull even complained about the number of photographers getting images of the cars at the end of the pit lane. Bonkers. Speaking of bonkers, Lewis Hamilton posted a stonking time (yes that’s a technical term) to end the day fastest again in his Mercedes. He has quickly played down any talk of winning races though. Just what is going on – the aussie GP is going to be interesting…
Binachi’s cheque must have cleared pretty quickly, because he was out running in the Marussia today, after only signing with the team yesterday following Razia’s financial woes – read more about that here.
