The race to join the 2012 Formula One grid has well and truly begun, with testing for this year’s GP2 championship getting underway at a distinctly soggy Silverstone yesterday. Former Renault driver and pre-season title favourite Romain Grosjean set the pace, lapping the Northamptonshire circuit nearly half a second faster than Arden’s Josef Kral. The Franco-Swiss racer has already claimed the GP2 Asia title, and now looks primed for an assault on the main series.
