There’s a very special karting event happening later this month at the brilliant Daytona Karting circuit in Milton Keynes – the Forget Me Not 500, raising money for the Forget Me Not Childrens Hospice, organised by Porsche racing driver, Tim Sugden.
The event is a 2hr endurance karting event featuring some famous names from the world of motorsport – namely Johnny Cocker, Rob Bell, Tim Sugden and James Walker. The karts themselves are pro-machinery, see the Daytona website for more info.
What’s more, you can get yourself into a team and take part too – for the bargain price of £500 you can enter a team (of up to 6) and compete against real racing drivers at a great circuit and raise money for a good cause at the same time. The race begins at 12.30pm on October 30th 2011.
Some of the famous names include:
- Jonny Cocker – American Le Mans Series, former Asian Porsche Carrera Cup Champion
- James Walker – Ferrari Le Mans Series and Formula Renault 3.5 race winner
- Rob Bell – Ferrari Le Mans Series – won last race
- Tim Sugden – ex BTCC, now races Stock Cars and at Le Mans
