Michael Schumacher and Vitaly Petrov came together again during the Korean Grand Prix, in quite spectacular style – while battling with Fernando Alonso, Petrov had far too much speed approaching the corner and simply smashed in Schumacher, while Alonso ran wide and narrowly avoided being caught up in the carnage. It must have been a massive shock for the German who was having a reasonable race, only to then have it be over in a flash.
Petrov carried on, pitted for a new wing but suffered from damage to his steering, forcing him to retire. The incident was investigated after the race and Petrov has been given a five place grid penalty for causing the collision.
