Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Canadian Grand Prix - Race Day - Montreal, CanadaPaul Di Resta must be wondering what’s going on at the moment – especially during qualifying. After setting the fastest time in a wet FP1, poor timing and a technical issue landed the rather sour-faced Glaswegian in a lowly 17th by Saturday afternoon. A pattern that might be becoming somewhat familiar after a similar scenario in Monte Carlo.

Race weekend over then? Well no, not quite…

Starting on the harder Medium compound of the Italian rubber, Di Resta managed a mammoth 56 laps before pitting – some 74% of race distance!

This combined with some consistent driving and good straight line speed moved him up to 7th, well ahead of team-mate Sutil, who, if we’re brutally honest, went in exactly the opposite direction.

Assuming Force India can get its act together on a Saturday, the Silverstone based outfit could be on for a strong weekend at its home race.
