In the announcements coming out of the gaming conference E3 yesterday around Forza Motorsport 5, racing fans would have noticed that for the first time the Forza series will include open-wheeled racing cars. They announced that IndyCar race cars will be included, with cars from Andretti Autosport, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Target Chip Ganassi and Team Penske all being realistically rendered in the new edition.
If you’re more a fan of F1, all is not lost – in fact there’s some rather exciting news with the the game also featuring historic F1 cars, namely the McLaren M23 and the Ferrari 312-2 from 1976 as driven by Hunt and Lauda, in a tie=up with the Ron Howard film Rush.
The makers of the Forza series, Turn 10 Studios, have long been known for interesting partnerships, with the current edition of the game having a heavy Top Gear connection with the team there creating selections of cars, the Top Gear track available to drive around and the occasional heavy-duty voiceovers.
So with historic F1, IndyCar AND Top Gear, we can’t wait to play this game when it arrives later this year.
