Day 3 and now Red Bull are having problems with Webber’s afternoon ending prematurely due to a suspected failure on his car causing his to come to a halt halfway round the lap. The car was quickly covered and brought back before the final hour resumed. Astonishingly, none other than Pastor Maldonado finished the day in P1 for Williams. Any Venezuelan fans out there, don’t get too carried away just yet – Barrichello did this a year ago and we all know what sort of season he had for the rest of 2011.
By the end of the session, Michael Schumacher had racked up 127 laps, including a 59 lap non-stop stint – impressive work from the 7-time champion who, despite the hype is being very cautious when talking about his 2012 championship prospects. Either way, you can’t say he’s not trying with a testing effort like that.
We’ll bring you details from this evenings interviews later, but for now here’s another fantastic gallery of images from Octane Photos of the cars on track today.
