Remember when there was a good Mexican in the car at Sauber?

Unfortunately, that time has been and gone, and Esteban is the one in the Swiss squad’s car right now. We haven’t seen much of him to compare him to Sergio Perez just yet – the season is, after all, three races old – but what we have seen of him on track has been either facing the wrong way, or surrounded by shattered carbon fibre. Most of the time, his own.

Is it too much for him already? The jury is still out, but with a grid penalty in Bahrain thanks to a misjudgement in braking and colliding with Adrian Sutil (out of all the drivers on the grid, he hits the one with a history of assault charges) it’ll be a tough afternoon in Sakhir for the young Mexican.

Verdict: must try harder.
