Two F1 teams have used Twitter to bait their waiting fans with close-up images of their 2013 cars.

Mercedes struck first with two shots of Lewis Hamilton’s new charger, the W04. One is of an extreme close up of a raised edge, maybe of the front wing or rear end of the sidepod, while the second is an obscured and blurred shot of the whole car, with only the Petronas logos visible on the rear wing and sidepods.

Not one to miss out on all the fun, Sauber have now tweeted an extreme close-up of their new car, the C32. But, not wanting to give to much away, they’ve only made the large, red “Clarion” sign visible.

Both cars launch this weekend; Sauber on Saturday, and Mercedes on Monday.
