The May Bank Holiday isn’t far away and as well as the excitement and glamour of the Monaco Grand Prix, here at Badger, we’re also very much looking forward to the 2011 Motorsport at the Palace, over in Crystal Palace London on the 29th and 30th of May.

We spent a day there last year, marvelling at the stunning display of racing cars through the ages and enjoying some excellent on-track action.  One of the best things about Motorsport at the Palace is that it’s run by motorsport fans, for motorsport fans and this is evident on the day too.  You can enjoy our report and photographs from the 2010 event here.

We strongly suggest you get yourself some tickets to join the several thousand others (and BadgerGP) for a cracking Bank Holiday weekend of motorsport.  Tickets are currently available at an early bird discount rate of only £8 – more information below, in the press release, direct from the ‘palace.

Tickets are now available for this year’s Motorsport at the Palace, at a special discount rate of £8 per day from the website.

Visitors will also be able to purchase tickets on the gate, at the standard rate of £10 per day. Following the success of last year’s event, the organisers are promising even more variety and excitement over the bank holiday weekend of 29/30 May.

Over 200 classic and modern racing cars will be battling it out on track in an attempt to set the fastest time around the parkland circuit. Elsewhere, visitors to the family-orientated event will be able to stroll around the open paddock, meeting the drivers and admiring the many vehicles on display.

The Brooklands Motorcycle Museum will be demonstrating a host of beautiful classic and vintage bikes from their world-famous collection, and Roary the Racing Car will again be making a special appearance in the Roary Zone, where a number of child-friendly activities will be taking place.

Numerous clubs and organisations will also be displaying their vehicles, including the Colin Chapman Museum, the AA Heritage Collection, the Ferrari Owners’ Club and the Historic Rally Car Register, among many others.

Last year’s Motorsport at the Palace proved a huge success, winning awards and receiving praise from spectators, drivers, and The Mayor of Bromley, who said: “Motorsport at Crystal Palace exemplifies the kind of family-orientated event that works so well in our Capital’s parks. The organisers put on a great show. We’re certainly looking forward to this year’s event, which I’m sure will build on last year’s success and give residents another bank holiday to remember.”

So what are you waiting for? Grab yourself a discount ticket from the website and look forward to two action-packed days of motorsport in Crystal Palace.
