Nuts. No, I’m not merely commenting on how hectic Sunday’s race was, I’m pointing out what cost Force India bringing both cars home in Malaysia.

Officially, the team has stated that both cars had to be withdrawn due to “captive wheelnut failures”, which sound like the wheelnuts bolted for freedom from cages. Now, all jokes aside, it’s a setback from a team that was on course for a double points finish it Sepang.

Both Paul Di Resta and Adrian Sutil were in the mix against both Mercedes and McLaren throughout the afternoon. Maybe they wouldn’t have been in the podium scrap that Jenson Button thought was going on, but they definitely had the measure of Lotus and Hulkenberg.

It’s a case of Force India screwing themselves out of a decent result or two. I’ll get my coat.
