Later this year sees a great event take place called ‘Ride2Spa’ which is, as the name suggests, a bike ride to Spa, Belgium for the Belgian Grand Prix.  A group of F1 and cycling enthusiasts have planned to ride all the way from Silverstone to Spa, which is 400 miles, over  4 days, raising money for 5 charities.

Here at Badger GP we are big fans of the idea and we’re supporting for event, especially now with our Editor in Chief experiencing a moment of madness in which he has signed up to join the ‘Ride 2 Spa Team’ and and will jump on a bike and get pedalling to the grand prix.

The mission: “Our aim is to ride from one iconic F1 circuit to another, taking in the English countryside through the South of the UK, onwards into France and Belgium, with the reward of spending the weekend cheering on the F1 drivers through Friday Practice, the Saturday Qualifying session and then the Race on Sunday 2nd September, returning home on Monday 3rd September 2012.”

Donate!  Support Badger’s effort in the Ride 2 Spa – If you would like to support the ride and help us raise loads of money for these charities, you can do so at the Virgin Money Giving page here  – mark your payment as ‘Go Badger‘ or similar, so we know who to thank – without wanting to sound like a supermarket chain, ‘every little helps’ so if you can donate it would be much appreciated.

You can read more about the ride and join in or help out via the Ride2Spa website here and while you’re at, you should follow @ride2spa on Twitter too.

Our Editor, Adam Mills isn’t what you’d call a cycling enthusiast, but he’s up for the challenge and is currently in training for the big ride.  You can follow his progress via Twitter @AdamMillsF1 and he’ll be publishing updates on BadgerGP.com too.

Here’s the last time Adam spent time on a bike, although he’ll be doing the Ride 2 Spa on a more grown up bike, the BMX wouldn’t cut it…
