After clinching pole position on Saturday, Nico Rosberg finally realised the potential of the 2013 Mercedes to take victory around the streets of Monte Carlo ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. Rosberg has always performed well around the principality, scoring podiums in cars that weren’t meant to and after some strong qualifying performances in 2013 a solid race performance was needed for the Mercedes team.
While other cars banged wheels, barriers or failed to finish, Nico calmly drove from start to finish, never losing the lead.

With two safety car periods and a red flag following some nasty incidents, it was a far from simple victory, but 78 laps without error, maintaining his tyres and keeping Sebastian Vettel at bay with 3 restarts, Nico made it look easy as he took the chequered flag 30yrs after his father Keke Rosberg did the same. Well done Nico.
