Renault F1 Team is having a filming day at Silverstone this Friday (6 May) and you can head along for absolutely no charge. How sweet is that?

Lotus, the Enstone team’s previous iteration, pulled a similar move last year at Brands Hatch, marking two years in a row of generosity from the team. Guys, we really appreciate it.

Much like at Brands, you can’t go everywhere (No pit lane or paddock access, sorry) but once you get into the circuit, you’re free to sit in the International pit straight grandstand – that’s the start/finish straight if you were wondering. If you can, don’t miss this opportunity, as rack tickets for that section can cost in the region of £300-400, rather than, you know, £0…

Both K-Mag and Jolyon Palmer will be in action with the yellow race machine that scored its first points of the season on Sunday in Russia, as well as ‘vehicles of the Renault sport range’, which we assume means some pretty racy tin tops and hatchbacks.

Gates open at 8.45am, with track activities taking place between 9am and 5pm.

Renault, like all F1 teams, are allowed 2 filming days over the course of the season, where they have to use special promotional tyres, and they are limited to 100km of running.
