Sky are clearly very keen to have as many viewers as possible for the 2013 F1 season, which is great news for fans because if you haven’t got Sky already, or are looking to upgrade your current package to get the F1 channel, there’s no better time than now.

Last week they offer the half price for a year deal, which has sadly ended, but they have a half price for 6months deal, which is still pretty damn reasonable.  Here’s how it works:

Sky Entertainment pack is usually £21.50 per month, but currently is half price for the first 6months.  The HD pack (which is what you need to get Sky Sports F1 channel) is usually £10.25 per month is also half price for the first 6months.  There’s no setup fee and they give your the Sky+HD box free too.

In terms of overall cost, this works out to be:

  • 6months half price Sky TV: £61.50 (@ £10.25 per month)
  • 6months half price HD Pack: £30 (@ £5 per month)
  • 6months full price Sky TV: £123 (@ £21.50 per month)
  • 6months full price HD Pack: £61.50 (@ £10.25 per month)
  • Total for 12 months: £276 all in (£13.80 per race if there are 20 GPs)

Yes, it’s not free, but it’s not too bad either and they don’t do things by half either – the dedicated F1 channel is on 24/7 with old re-runs and other bonus programmes such as the F1 Show alongside the race weekend coverage – and you’re getting all the other Sky channels with the fancy pause/record live telly gubbins.

I don’t want to sound like a Sky salesman, but this is a damn good deal, if I wasn’t a Sky customer already I’d be signing up immediately.  If you’re quick enough you may even get it installed before March 17th too.
