Now that the dust has settled on the less than enthralling Bahrain Grand Prix, all F1 fans have the Australian Grand Prix to look forward to, in less than two weeks time. We may see another Ferrari 1-2 or maybe, with the obvious speed of the Red Bull, a Mark Webber home victory or maybe any one of the other clear 6 race winning driver/car combinations we’re graced with on the 2010 line up.
The slogan for this year’s Australian Grand Prix at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne is “Feel the energy” and organisers are expecting quite a turn out with massive support for Webber, especially now he’s proven himself to be a race winner after the 2009 Brazilian GP. It’s not only the race that fans can get excited about either, as ever the Australian GP crosses that boundary which usually should not be crossed and combines motorsport with music. Last year they had 60s legends The Who performing live, which was damn impressive and in 2010 they have Simple Minds and Powerfinger… well anyway, you can click here to download the Australian Grand Prix Programme in it’s entirety.
With Bahrain severely underwhelming as the season opener, there’s every chance that round 2 will set the record straight. The Melbourne track always produces a superb spectacle of a grand prix and here at F1 Badger we’re eagerly awaiting the first proper race of 2010. So much so in fact that we’ve sent our Melbourne based photographer out to capture the preperations so far… that’s right folks, the organisers have already begun work on closing the park and some of the surrounding streets to create the track. Here’s the progress so far… (click the photos to make them larger)
