There were some excellent performances in the Canadian Grand Prix – Paul Di Resta did a great job to last 57 laps on one set of Pirelli tyres, Jean-Eric Vergne impressed again with SIXTH for Toro Rosso, Romain Grosjean started the race so far back he may has well been in Alaska yet came through the field (and didn’t crash), and Vettel was so far out in front he was waiting on the podium for nearly 30 minutes while the rest completed race – but our TOP DOG award for Canada goes to…
The often forgotten teammate of Fernando Alonso started at the back end of the grid, and had it all to do as the lights went out. And he did just that, gaining 8 places and finishing 8th, having driven his Ferrari like he stole it.
In fact his performance on was so good that some questioned if it was actually him in the car, as he took on and overtook driver after driver around the Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve.
Well done Felipe, let’s see more of this.
