Sparks flew as Bahrain delivered another cracker of an F1 race with several drivers putting in splendid drives.
Nico Rosberg was relatively unchallenged at the head of the field, Pascal Wehrlein showed the speed promised in Australia was not a false dawn for Manor and Stoffel Vandoorne scored a fantastic point on his McLaren debut. However all three have been pipped to the post for our Bahrain Grand Prix TOP DOG by the same chap who walked away with the accolade two weeks ago, Romain Grosjean.
After qualifying an excellent 9th on Saturday Grosjean was in a bullish mood ahead of the race. Points were the target and RoGro hit the bullseye by bringing his Haas home in 5th place after an inspired and aggressive strategy call by Ruth Buscombe once again.
Grosjean was brilliant while getting through traffic on each of his supersoft stints, and held off Max Verstappen in the final few laps despite being on the slower tyre. The result leaves the Frenchman in 5th place in the championship and his team sitting in the same place in the constructors table. Not too shabby for a group of people with just two Grand Prix behind them!
So well done again Romain, two races in 2016 and two TOP DOG awards from us.
