Fernando Alonso at Monza
Fernando Alonso: I took this photo on the podium at the 2013 Italian Grand Prix. Stepping onto the Monza podium is always a special feeling, as it’s the only one where you can feel all the love that the fans have for the team and it’s the best prize at the end of the weekend.

I love this picture, from Alonso on the podium of Monza. It’s one of the many photos that have been signed and been donated to Zoom Auction, a unique event taking place on 7th Feb, where photographs taken by the drivers, team principles and other stars of F1 will be auctioned off to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, a charity that the F1 group has supported for many years. As well as photos, Nikon has also donated some Coolpix S9500 that have been signed by World Champions – but if you had a camera signed by John Surtees or Sebastian Vettel would you use it or frame and display it?

There are a whole load of pictures, from current drivers such as Alonso and Button, all the team principles and even a couple from Bernie Ecclestone himself, with snapshots of some of his favourite ornaments around the house. But if you can’t make a bid for one of the pictures, you will still be able to get all of them collated in the special edition book, Zoom – only £20.
